Oliver studied at Otago University where he was the recipient of a Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship awarded at the high distinction level. Oliver was third in his class in Family Law and graduated in 2023 with a BA/LLB in Law and Geography minoring in Politics.

He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2023.  Prior to becoming part of the Rennie Cox team Oliver worked as an assistant to a Kings Counsel. He joined Rennie Cox in 2023 and advises clients on:

• A wide range of family law matters including wills and trusts and relationship property claims
• A wide range of property and commercial disputes, including residential and tenancy disputes, as well as general debt recovery and insolvency proceedings
• Immigration and Refugee Law
• Torts
• Employment disputes
